内容記述 The purpose of this study is to investigate the extent to which college students have global awareness and competence and to examine the effects of global education on their attitudes toward global citizenship. The subjects were 26 students who wanted to transfer to a four-year college. They took a questionnaire that was used in PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) 2018 Global Competence Survey before and after the class practice. Moreover, the same survey was conducted again almost six months later to see the relationship between the number of lessons and the growth of awareness and competence. All data were examined statistically. In conclusion, students before taking global education lessons thought they did not possess enough knowledge, self-efficacy, and a feeling of belonging towards a global community, while they had strong interests in knowing global and cultural issues and positive attitudes toward respecting multiculturalism. Moreover, global education increased not only their sense of being in a global community significantly but also identifying with their nation and region, regardless of the number of lessons. The results showed that global education was effective for improving a sense of global citizenship and had a positive ripple effect, especially on student attitudes, which accordingly may enhance learning outcomes compared with another method.
