| 内容記述 | This paper discusses the results of a research project comparing two English as a Foreign Language (EFL) composition courses conducted with Japanese university students. One course was taught in a traditional classroom manner and the other used the flipped method. The results showed that significantly higher efforts were observed in students who studied under the flipped method. They spent a greater number of hours studying for class and produced more words on their compositions. Furthermore, the flipped method also increased the writing proficiency of the participants. Reasons for these differences include the capability to view explanations of the text as many times as needed and more chances for direct feedback from the instructor for flipped classroom participants. | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | 本稿では、日本人の大学生を対象に行った、２つのEFL の英作文のクラスを比較した研究プロジェクトの結果について述べる。１つ目のコースでは従来の教授法を用い、もう１つのコースでは反転教室の方法を用いた。結果によると、反転教室のもとで学習した学生にはたくさんの努力が見られた。彼らは授業のためにかなり多くの時間を勉強に費やしていて、英作文もより長く書かれていた。さらに、反転教室では学生のライティング能力も上がっていた。 これらの違いの理由には、教科書の説明を必要に応じて何度も表示する機能や、教員からの直接のフィードバックの機会を増やしていることがあげられる。 |
