| 内容記述 | Schemas are considered as organized collections of beliefs and feelings regarding some aspects of the world. The present article reviews how these cognitive structures affect university students' reading comprehension. The results show participants were much more successful in recalling information from culturally familiar passages than from unfamiliar ones. | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | 本研究では、異文化に対する既存の情報量およびスキーマが読み手の文章読解に及ぼす認知的影響について、米国 東海岸の私立大学に在学する学生を対象に調査した。日米文化の差異について、英語で書かれた手紙形式の例文は計 360単語から成る。結果は、Pritchard (1991) の調査と同様に、文化的に精通した情報は、そうでない情報よりも容易に認知され得ることが示唆された。 | |||||||||||
